  • 2 tsp(s) Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 Tbsp(s) Olive Oil
  • 1 large Red Onion, diced
  • 1 stalk(s) Celery, diced
  • 1 Green Pepper, diced
  • 2 lb(s) Red Beans
  • 4 clove(s) Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp(s) Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp(s) Salt
  • 1/4 tsp(s) Black Pepper, ground
  • 1 cup(s) Rice
  • 1 Tbsp(s) Butter
  • 1 Tbsp(s) Cilantro, minced
  • 2 1/2 cup(s) Chicken or Vegetable Broth

Red Beans and Rice Directions

  1. Following package instructions cook the dried red beans.
  2. In a large sauce pan sauté  garlic, onion, celery, and bell pepper in oil until softened. Stir in kidney beans, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. Reduce heat to low.
  3. Cook the rice in broth with butter.
  4. Add beans and rice to the sauce pan.
  5. Garnished with cilantro.
