Excellent! This dish doesn't have a gravy and threrefore should be served with naan and not over rice.

Hariyali Jhinga (Green Shrimp)

  • 1 cup(s) Cilantro
  • 1/2 cup(s) Mint
  • 4 Green Chillies
  • 1 cup(s) Red Onion, diced
  • 1 Tbsp(s) Olive Oil
  • 1/4 tsp(s) Turmeric
  • 2 tsp(s) Ginger Paste
  • 2 tsp(s) Garlic Paste
  • 1 tsp(s) Coriander
  • 20 Curry Leaves, fresh
  • 1 lb(s) Shrimp, raw
  • 1/2 tsp(s) White Pepper
  • 1 tsp(s) Garam Masala
  • 2 Tbsp(s) Lime Juice

Hariyali Jhinga (Green Shrimp) Directions

  1. In a food chopper, blend cilantro, mint and green chillies. set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a large pan and saute the red onion until browned. Add turmeric, ginger, garlic and mix to coat the onions. Add the coriander and cilantro blend. Saute for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the fresh curry leaves and mix well. When the curry leaves begin to soften, add the shrimp, pepper, garam masala and lime juice. Mix well.
  4. Cover and cook until shrimp begin to turn pink. do not over cook the shrimp or they will become rubbery.
