I like to serve this with naan or roti and garnish with cilantro. Makhana is puffed lotus seed. They are white and about 3/4" round with no distinctive flavor by themself. They will shrink and have a texture similar to mushrooms. 

This recipe needs to be worked on. As shown it needs more spices and is technicaly not "Shahi" (Royal). Shahi should be a white gravy an not include tomatoes.

1 Tbsp Butter
2 14.5 oz cans Diced Tomatoes, undrained
1 cup Khoya, grated
12 oz Paneer, cubed
20 each Makhana
3 Tbsps Whole Milk
6 pods Green Cardamom
4 drops Kewra Essence
0.5 tsp Red Chili Powder
20 halves Cashews
4 each Green Chilies, diced

Shahi Paneer Korma Directions

  1. Saute the tomatoes in butter. Add khoya and cook to make a thick gravy (6 on my wok).
  2. Add remaining ingredients, stir well, cover and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Garnish with cilantro and serve with roti or naan.
