I try to avoid salt at all costs, so I have come up with this recipe to replace pre-packaged Onion Soup Mix. The big issue is the Beef Bouillon. Traditional bouillon cubes have up to 900 mg of sodium per cube. Even "Better Than Bouillon" Beef Base has 680 mg of sodium per tsp. The best I've found is "Pacific" Organic Low Sodium Beef Broth (liquid) which has 140 mg of sodium. For the ingrediate "Beef Broth" feel free to use any substitute you wish.

Another modification is to substitute some or all of the Onion Powder with Garlic Powder.
