Old Ebbitt's Crab Cakes
This recipe comes from Old Ebbitt's Grill's website. If your in D.C., regardless of what anyone tells you, the best crab cakes are at Old Ebitt's. Oceanaire waiters will tell you they have the best crab cakes but they are wrong! The crab cake is served as a meal or as a sandwhich. They serve it with a small amount of sweet slaw and deep fried sweet potatoe fries. The sauce is a mix of horseradish and plain yogurt (may be mayonnaise). I always substitute the sweet potatoe fries for potato salad. The bun grilled with butter and garnished with romaine lettuce and sliced tomato.

Crab Cakes
| 0.33 cup(s) Mayonnaise |
| 2 tsp(s) Old Bay Seasoning |
| 1 Tbsp(s) Dijon Mustard |
| 1 Tbsp(s) Parsley, fresh chopped |
| 1 Tbsp(s) Water |
| 4 each Saltine Crackers |
Horseradish Mayonnaise
| 0.5 cup(s) Mayonnaise |
| 0.13 tsp(s) Salt |
| 2 tsp(s) Horseradish |
| 0.5 tsp(s) Lemon Juice |
| 0.5 tsp(s) Old Bay Seasoning |
Old Ebbitt's Crab Cakes Directions
- Combine the Mayonnaise, Old Bay, parsley mustard and water until smooth.
- Add the crab meat and mix being careful not to break-up the crab meat.
- Place the crackers in a zip-lock bag and use a rolling pin to crush to small crumbs. Add to the crab meat mix.
- Form 4 patties and pan fry or broil until golden brown.
